a higher grade modern entry-level banjo from Saga. It has an 11” cast aluminium alloy rim & heavy nickel-plated metalwork - 24 brackets, a heavy armrest and a Waverley tailpiece. The plating is excellent. Fitted with a new Remo top-sprayed head. The truss rodded mahogany neck is quite slim with a cream plastic bound rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot position markers. Two-point neck fixing for extra stability. The scale length is 26 ½” with 22 frets. Modern banjo fretting, nicely done & hand dressed for an excellent playing surface. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with guitar style geared tuners and a geared 5th string peg. The neck is finished in clear gloss lacquer - the finish is good. Owing to the heavier metalwork and better grade body, it has a better tone than the basic model and is suitable for any open chord tuning. A good banjo for a beginner in most styles and for general “folk” use.
