a nice quality modern beginner/intermediate banjo from Saga. It has a heavy 11” cast aluminium alloy rim with an integral tone ring & heavy nickel-plated metalwork - 24 brackets, a heavy armrest and a Clamshell tailpiece. The plating is excellent. Fitted with a Remo top-sprayed head. The truss rodded mahogany neck is quite slim with a cream plastic bound rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot position markers. Two-point neck fixing for extra stability. The scale length is 26 ½” with 22 frets. Modern banjo fretting, very nicely done & hand-dressed for an excellent playing surface. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with banjo style planet geared tuners and a geared 5th string peg. Standard cream plastic bound convex “Gibson” style resonator with 2-piece flange and 4-point fixings. The neck is finished in clear gloss lacquer - the finish is very good. This banjo produces a very good tone from its well-designed rim and is suitable for any open chord tuning. A good banjo for a beginner or improver in bluegrass style.
