a new & improved version of this well-known banjo from China. It has an 11” x ¾” thick 3-ply maple rim with a cast Flathead tone ring & heavy-duty chrome-plated metalwork - 24 brackets and a Straightline tailpiece. The plating is very nicely done. Fitted with a Remo head. The truss rodded mahogany neck is quite chunky with a bound rosewood fingerboard and fancy “wreath-style” inlaid position markers. The scale length is 26 ¼” with 22 frets. Modern banjo fretting, nicely done and hand-dressed by us to give an excellent playing surface. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with good quality vintage style planetary banjo tuners and a matching geared 5th peg. The neck is finished in gloss lacquer which matches the resonator & body very well - the finish is very good. The resonator is the standard convex type and the flange is the one-piece cast zinc-alloy type regarded as the standard for modern bluegrass banjos. Overall, this banjo is well built and very good value for money. It has a bright, loud tone suitable for any open chord tuning. A good “bluegrass” banjo which would suit a beginner or intermediate player. A much better quality banjo than the price would suggest......
