a new, much improved, modern banjo from Ozark. It has an 11” x ¾” thick 3-ply maple rim with a heavy cast-brass Flathead tone ring & heavy-duty gold-plated metalwork - 24 brackets and a Straightline tailpiece. The plating is very nicely done. Fitted with a 5-Star head. The truss rodded flamed maple neck is quite chunky with a bound ebony fingerboard and fancy “Riverboat-style” inlaid position markers. The scale length is 26 ¼” with 22 frets. Modern banjo fretting, very nicely done and hand-dressed by us to give an excellent playing surface. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with good quality vintage style planetary banjo tuners and a matching geared 5th peg. The neck is finished in gloss lacquer which matches the resonator & body very well - the finish is very good. The resonator is a highly decorated convex type and the flange is the one-piece cast type regarded as the standard for modern bluegrass banjos. Overall, this banjo is very well built and good value for money. It has a very bright, very loud tone suitable for any open chord tuning. A good “bluegrass” banjo which would suit a player of any standard with excellent and eye-catching decoration - the pictures do not do it justice
