a nice "convertible" beginner‘s banjo suitable for various styles of playing. It has an 11” x ½” laminated mahogany rim with sturdy chrome plated metalwork - 24 brackets and an Elton-style tailpiece. The plating is good. Fitted with a Remo head. The truss rodded mahogany neck is quite slim with a black bound rosewood fingerboard and dot position markers. The scale length is 27” with 22 frets. Modern banjo fretting, nicely done and hand dressed to give an excellent playing surface. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with guitar-style tuners and a geared 5th string peg. The neck is finished in gloss lacquer which matches the body & resonator very well - the finish is good. Overall, this banjo is nicely made and very good value for money. It has a pleasant, clear suitable for any open chord tuning. A neat little banjo which would suit a beginner in most styles as the resonator is easily detachable for open-back use.
