a new, improved beginner‘s banjo made in China. It has an 11” laminated ½” mahogany rim with sturdy chrome & nickel plated metalwork - 18 brackets and an Elton-style tailpiece. The plating is very good. Fitted with a top sprayed Remo head. The truss rodded mahogany neck is quite slim with a black bound rosewood fingerboard and plain dot position markers. The scale length is 27 ½” with 22 frets. Modern banjo fretting, nicely done and hand-dressed for a smooth playing surface. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with guitar style tuners and a geared 5th string peg. The neck is finished in semi-gloss lacquer which matches the body & resonator very well - the finish is good.
Overall, this banjo quite nicely made and very good value for money. It has a mellow, clear tone suitable for any open chord tuning. A neat little banjo which would suit a beginner very well.
