A nice example of a renecked vintage over spun rim. This banjo has been built in the UK using an old over spun wooden rim and a kit neck. It has an 11" open spun rim, heavy nickel-plated metalwork - 24 brackets and a No-Knot tailpiece. Fitted with a calfskin vellum head. The truss rodded mahogany neck is quite slim with a rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot position markers. Hand cut perch pole. The scale length is 26 ½" with 18 frets. Modern banjo fretting, nicely done & hand-dressed for an excellent playing surface. The action is set-up for frailing/clawhammer but is adjustable as required. Fitted with vintage style planetary tuners and a geared 5th string peg. The neck has been hand finished with french polish - the finish is very good. This banjo has a pleasant mellow tone suitable for any open chord tuning. A well-proven design dating back to the 1940's. An amazingly economical banjo which works very well indeed.
FREE with this banjo: 2 sets of top-quality spare strings, a capo (for the 4 long strings) & a pair of fitted capo spikes (for the 5th string) and a fitted banjo strap.
