a new, de-luxe version of this modern high grade banjo from Florida. It has an 11” x ¾” thick 3-ply maple rim with a heavy cast archtop tone ring, cast one-piece flange & heavy-duty nickel-plated metalwork - 24 heavy duty tensioners and a Kerschner tailpiece. The plating is very good. Fitted with a smooth-top 5-Star head. The truss rodded maple neck is quite slim with a cream bound rosewood fingerboard and “Hearts & Flowers” position markers. The scale length is 23” with 19 frets. Modern banjo fretting in excellent condition. The action is set-up low but is adjustable as required. Fitted with top quality 5-Star vintage style planetary banjo tuners. The neck is finished in clear gloss lacquer which matches the body & resonator very well - the finish is very good. The resonator is a nicely decorated standard convex type and the flange is cast one-piece type - a very rigid style of construction indeed. Overall, this banjo is very well built and good value for money. It has a very bright, clear, loud tone suitable for either Irish or Jazz tuning. A very good tenor banjo with an amazing “cut” to it - would suit a player of any standard. For the extra money above the price of the standard archtop tenor, you get better quality hardware, a 5-Star head, 5-Star tuners and prettier woodwork. YOu can also have various options as to the exact type of head, fittings etc. These upgrades improve the tone, volume and appearance - a good package for the extra money.
