A circular piece of nice quality Calfskin vellum approx 12" in diameter which will make a banjo head up to about 9" diameter. It needs to be lapped onto a flesh ring to be fitted to a banjo - a simple (& virtually foolproof) method of fitting traditional vellum can be found on the "Help Topics for Banjo Players" list. You'll find this list on the "Advice" menu in the navigation bar at the top of the page. It really is a much simpler process than many of the on-line methods would have you believe!
